Akihabara - Akiba for short is also known as Electric Town located 5 minutes ride from Tokyo Station.

Electronics

Hundred of electronic shops can be found in Akihabara in such stores such as Ishimaru Denki, Sofmap and Laox. Often these lager shops can be found in the center of town immediately off of the train station. While many smaller shops can be found in the narrow side streets.

Manga, Anime, and Games

Over the years specialized shops have formed allowing you to find almost any kind of specialty item you are looking for. In addition you will find Cosplay and other Adult specialty shops.

One should take the time to get off the main road (Chuo-dori) and explore the parallel side streets. Good deals can also be found there and that is a nice break from the crowded main avenue.

	Laox - Operating 8 stores across Akihbara to include; new & used computer stores, duty free, watch & camera, and many Hobby stores Open daily 10:00 to 21:00.
	Softmap- Operated around 16 stores in Akihabara most specialising in used computers and the rest anime hobby shops. Official Site - Open daily 11:00 to 20:00.
	Donki ho-tei - A popular discount shopping center. Electronics, games, food, clothing, and more.
	Tsukumo - Operating various stores in Akihabara. They specialize in high end Japanese and American computers and accessories.
	The Mac Store -The main store offers anything and everything to due with Mac's.
	Radio Karkan - Directly outside the Electric Town Exit from Akihabara Station this multi-story store has anime and hobby goods of all kinds for all ages.
	Dospara - Operating 3 stores across Akihabara is another great place to find new and used computer and accessories.
	Gamers - The main store offers sorts of games, anime, and hobby goods.

How To Get There

From Tokyo Station 3 minutes and 130 Yen by JR Yamanote Line or JR Keihin-Tohoku Line.

From Shinjuku Station Take the orange colored JR Chuo Line (rapid service) from Shinjuku to Ochanomizu Station (10 minutes) and transfer to the yellow colored JR Sobu Line (local service) for one more station to Akihabara (2 minutes). The one way fare is 160 Yen.
